Well everyone its here, a much better jet pack http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/02/water-powered-jet-pack-runs-for-two-hours-on-a-single-tank/ , providing that you have 100 thousand us dollars, only use it over water, and go no higher than about 33 feet. Still this things have benefits: you can fly about 35mph, fly continuously for 2 hours, and being limited to 33 feet means that worse comes to worse, you fall 30 feet into water, rather than fly away and hit an airplane or a hot-air balloon. Chances are, as time goes on these things will get cheaper, and it makes me think, what will it be like when most everyone can afford one? flying across the ocean to islands a short distance away? Its 90 miles to Cuba from key west Florida, and 35 mph for 2 hours is about 70 miles distance. If they can improve these to go faster and/or last longer, you could break the embargo to Cuba with one of these things, what does everyone else think?
I want one!!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how much they are.
ReplyDeleteWill it fit in my Honda?
ReplyDeleteThis looks awesome, I want to be the guy at the lake flying around with a jetpack.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cool but it cost 100 grand that's too much! I rather buy a boat :D
ReplyDeletejust gotta wait for the price to drop, lol
ReplyDeleteWith a good tail wind Cuba might just be possible...great find
ReplyDeleteit would suck if your jetpack stopped working while you were 40 miles out on water though

ReplyDeleteLet me guess, for the low price of 100,000?
